When a commercial gym in Los Angeles wanted to elevate their space beyond the standard industrial aesthetic, they turned to California Woodworking for a solution that would be both visually striking and built to last. The Challenge

Our Solution: Vertical Wood Slat Wall Paneling
We designed and fabricated custom vertical wood slat paneling to run floor-to-ceiling along the gym's primary wall. The slat profile was carefully sized to create depth and shadow lines without being too dominant — a rhythm that reads as refined rather than busy.
The warm honey tones of the wood paneling play directly off the cool grey of the polished concrete floor and the black steel ceiling structure, giving the space a premium feel that separates it from the competition. Fabrication & Installation
Every slat was precision-cut in our Oxnard shop using our CNC equipment for consistent profiles across the entire run. Field-verified measurements ensured a tight, clean fit with the existing structure — critical in a commercial gym where walls aren't always perfectly plumb.
Our installation crew worked around the facility's schedule to minimize disruption, completing the paneling installation efficiently and leaving the site clean. From shop drawings to final install, the project came in on time and on budget.
