Light maple wood veneer cabinetry complemented by custom architectural millwork wood slats and wall paneling, creating a warm and refined common area workspace.

Light Maple Wood Veneer Cabinetry

The lower cabinetry runs the full width of the nook in a clean, handle-free profile with thermoformed laminate doors in a light maple tone. The warm, natural finish keeps the space feeling residential rather than institutional — an important distinction in a multi-family setting where the common area needs to feel like an extension of home.

Thermoformed laminate doors are an excellent choice for high-traffic common areas: they're durable, moisture-resistant, and maintain their appearance over time without the maintenance demands of real wood. The upgraded cabinet hardware complements the light maple tone with a refined, modern finish.

Architectural Millwork Wood Slats & Wall Paneling

Above the cabinetry, a continuous floating shelf spans the full width of the space, providing a generous work surface at the ideal height for seated or standing use. The wall paneling behind creates a clean, unified backdrop — the same light maple veneer carried through from the cabinetry ties the upper and lower elements together seamlessly.

The architectural millwork detailing integrates power access directly into the wall panel, keeping cords managed and the surface clear. The minimalist approach to the wall treatment means nothing competes with the natural material story — the wood does the talking.

Countertop & Integrated Sink

The light gray quartz countertop with an integrated undermount sink serves double duty — practical for a coffee and prep area while maintaining the clean aesthetic of the space. Under-counter refrigerator access is built in at the right end of the cabinet run, completing a functional wet bar and workspace in one cohesive installation.

The Right Finishes for Multi-Family Projects

Specifying finishes for a multi-family common area requires balancing aesthetics with durability. Light maple veneer and thermoformed laminate strike that balance well — they look premium, hold up to daily use, and are straightforward to clean and maintain. The architectural millwork elements add the design character that elevates the space without adding unnecessary complexity to the installation.

We work with general contractors and developers from the specification stage through installation, offering guidance on material selection and helping coordinate with other trades to keep projects on schedule.
